2009 Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Training & Update
Wednesday, August 19 8:30 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.
Join us for IEA's 18th Annual BBP Training and Update! In addition to updates on SESIPs, influenza, pertussis, and MRSA, we will be taking a close look at hazardous and pharmaceutical waste handling. The registration fee is $170, which includes breakfast, lunch, and a CD with the day's materials. Continuing education credits will be available.

2009 Bruce Bomier Scholarships Winners In 2005, IEA established an Environmental, Health and Safety Scholarship Program in honor of Bruce Bomier, IEA's founder and Board Chair.
IEA is committed to this scholarship program in the belief that the education and training of young people will advance the goal of healthy environments.
Three $2000 scholarships have been awarded this year to graduating seniors who are pursuing a career in environmental science, health/safety, industrial hygiene or engineering at any eligible post-secondary school. The winners are:
Zachary David Leyk from Sauk Rapids - Rice High School who wrote an essay on light pollution
David Accola from Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington who wrote an essay on hazardous pesticides used to control mosquitos
Chelsea Elizabeth Yost from Bemidji High School who wrote an essay on the hazards of new building materials
